hello peeps, hoping i can recieve some good advice. my partner has just recieved a goodwill offer regarding our PPI insurance on our mortgage. when we signed for our mortgage we took out (what we asked for) insurance for redundancy. two years passed and my partner was made redundant so when we claimed they told us we only had insurance for sickness. we complained and thet sent us the documents we signed, but we argued this is not what we asked for. so now we have this goodwill offer. we would like to know what to do about the 6 months my partner was out of work because the bank still demanded the mortgage and loan.can we claim this back and any advice on how to do this would be most grateful. the bank in question is the royal bank of scotland. sorry for the big ramble. many thanks.:)

I cant see how.
They are offering a goodwill gesture probably as its cheaper to do so than drag it out. However, they are not saying it was mis-sold. Indeed, the documentation indicates it probably wasnt (as least that is what the documentation shows and that trumps verbal accusations).
Unless you have any evidence to support your accusation against them, I think you have got lucky in this case as it is. Going for more without evidence is a bridge too far IMO.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
