Thanks for the responses.
However, it is my experience, that if you are successful at interview they then request to see references. And whenever I have previously seen my bosses do these, it normally has a box asking them to confirm what salary you are on. So if you do lie it may not look very good??

We have never disclosed this. Just either personal references ie line manager about the character etc or just the basic references such as confirmation of when and at what position person did.0 -
The only time I recall being asked to confirm salary is for mortgage applications and similar.
Not on a P46.
