  • Depends on the state. The rules are here: http://www.cdc.gov/animalimportation/cats.html

Also depends on the airline as they may impose their own rules.

when I moved here from the US I looked into it, and in the end, I couldn't do it...too many incidents of pets not making it - either being lost or worse...and while it was absolutely horrible to give my two away before moving here, I really felt I couldn't put them through it.

I know it's not what you asked...but it is worth having your friend really look into it...that's a long and scary journey for an animal who will not have any idea what is going on...I loved my cats and it was so, so hard to say goodbye to them but I've never regretted rehoming them rather than bringing them with me. All may have turned out fine, but I wasn't willing to risk it.

In any event, it's not something I would look for the cheapest option, to be honest.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?
