Microsoft Outlook Problem

I use Microsoft Outlook from Office 2010 Software Package. My problem is how the Sent folder message list is displayed.

The messages used to appear in sent order and displayed the name of the recipient. Although they are still listed in sent order they now display showing my name against all of them (i.e the sender). I have looked to see how to change this but I cannot find what or how.

I am aware if you right click in the “arrange by” heading it gives you options including recipient. At the momnet it is set as “by date”. If I change that to “to” i.e. the receipient, it then groups all the message by the receipient and not in chronological order of when the messages were sent, although they are in date order under each individual recipient.

I have never had this issue before and do not know what has happened to make it happen now. It is probably something simple that I'm missing, but what.

BTW this has only happened on one of the computors I run outlook on and not the other one.

Any advice gratefully received.

Many thanks

  • Right click on the headers area and select "Customise Current View" then in "Fields" make sure "To" is on the right (may as well remove "From" as that will be you). Once done you can just arrange the view into whatever catagory you choose.

I do not appear to have a “Customise Current View Option”. However, there is a View tab option along the top menu. Having played with that I have managed to change it by going through “Change view” and then clicking sent to in the options for the sent folder..

Not exactly as you suggested, I think my version of Outlook may be newer than the one you're referring to, but has done the trick.

    Many thanks.
  • Aaah yes indeed, I am on 2003 at the moment, probably should have double checked on a later version :o

    Glad you are sorted though.
