PAYG sim card for USA?

Good afternoon.

Can any one recommend any particular kind of PAYG sim card for use in the USA? Ideally would like to be able to get one before we go on 3rd September.

It's not really for making international calls but more for helping on our road trip with calling for reservations etc.

Thanks for any help.

Once you get there, just head to Walgreen's and pick up a PAYG cell phone for about $15. We've used Trumpet Mobile 3 times now - usually spend about $15 per 2 week trip. Also enables you to use your own phone without constantly swapping sim cards.

Having said that, with a smart phone and ubiquitous wi-fi, you can do most things online now - but still handy.

The credit on T-Mobile US PAYG expires after 3 months IIRC unless you top up again in that time (to extend the life by another 3 months). Does the phone number get disconnected at some point? I have one that was last used in April - will it be OK next June?
