HSBC 0% Credit Card

HSBC took over two months to process my credit card application. I had to chase them three times to get things moving, not good when you are a rate tart! Of course this long time processing meant that the 0% period was shortened. Be aware that the 0% period is now only 6 months (until 1st June) rather than the previous 1st September.
Two weeks after the card arrived I am still awaiting the PIN!
Has anyone else had this sort of problems with HSBC? I am also amazed that their helpdesk is only open on weekdays and is not 24 hour. I would have thought and hoped that as a worldwide organisation that they could at least have managed this. I am afraid that because my service from the helpdesk has been so bad, I refuse to use and now wrtie them letters (which are ignored).

What I did was take the reference number (from the helpdesk) and went down to my local Branch and finalised it there. 4 days later - i had the card followed by the PIN number.
My statement shows Sep 05 when my 0% will expire.0 -
I went to the branch too, as did many others. Seems the only option. Take prooof of identity suchas passport/driving licence or they will not process your application unless you have a current account with them.0

Struggling to work out why you need a PIN if you are a 'rate tart'??Ethical moneysaver0

A delay of 2 weeks between card and PIN arriving sounds like the PIN is lost in the post. No matter how inefficient the initial processing, the issue of one should automatically trigger the other.0
