HELP! ex turning nasty over house sale
Comments
-
she earns about 28k, but has a savings account with some money in (dont know how much) and may have access to additional leading. She is confident she can get a mortgage.
i paid exactly the same deposit as my partner, but on top of our deposits added together, my parents lent us some money to get us to a 25% deposit0 -
I think you need to sell the house, she is going to need a 5x mortgage for it, which is not going to be easy.
How was the 2k repaid to your parents, was it from you, her or a joint account, that may be useful to demonstrate that this money was regarded by everyone as a loan.0 -
it was paid by direct debit out of the joint account, same amount each month0

Did you add a narrative of "Loan repayment" or somehting like that to the payment.
It doesnt sound like your ex is disputingthe loan exists, but getting together as much proof as possible that it was a loan may be helpful.
But really do see a solicitor, if your ex cant get a mortgage, you may have to sell.
If she tries to keep the current mortgage with your name on it and then defaults you may be liable to pay.0 -
its says IOU0

Could she be persuaded to sell?
It doesn't sound like she can afford to buy the house off you and your parents?0 -
by the manor of he replies, i think she is going down the gift route. Better get myself a solicitor, does anybody have any recommendations?0
