When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.

Morning campers  can we believe its Monday already????! I am really in need of a break from work but have another 2 weeks to go....

So today:
  • checked banking already
  • brekkie, lunch & dinner from stores (was going out for dinner with a friend, but instead will invite her here for dinner ;))
  • take magpie box & post
  • continue with the declutter
  • check onepoll
  • list 1 thing on ebay/3 things on freecycle
  • try for a NSD
  • do meter readings for new energy supplier
  • go for a run after work & possibly a swim if the pool is open
ok that'll do me. Seeing as I want this week to speed by I'm going to work my little socks off in the hope that the week goes quickly :p whose with me?

Happy Monday y'all :A

Morning all! Thanks to Determined for starting us off.

Its a lovely day so far here - all blue skies and sun - hope it will last.

Not too much on the agenda today...
    • Check banks
    • See if I can find anything to ebay
    • Sort out printer - ink doesn't seem to be working
    • Do at least 4 hours school work - back to physics today - yuk!
    • Walk dog lots including a visit to the park shortly

    • Try to have a NSD
    • Touch up the paintwork
    • Maybe phone carpet fitter to see if he can do the bathroom carpet from leftover guestroom new carpet, plan to paint it using leftover emulsion and gloss so it will be another room completely redecorated this summer and will cost nothing apart from the carpet fitting
    • Sort out bins ready for collection tomorrow
    • Sort out quidco complaint
    • Stick to diet- want to lose 3lbs before I go back to school in 2 weeks
    • Stay in and watch the soaps tonight

Decided yesterday to start sorting out spare bedroom (It's just full of junk) managed to chuck alot of stuff out last night but when I had a sneak in there this morning it looks worse than ever. I'm just going to be ruthless and things we haven't even thought about it in the last year are getting binned!

Hope everyone has a great day!

  • Morning everyone,
I'm off today (worked split shifts over weekend) so having a very lazy morning. Need to get off my backside soon though and get motivated.
Thanks DNMS for starting us off. I quickly read through weekend thread, how do you freeze bananas? (apart from the obvious put them in freezer LOL)
Shezam, my spare room is the same, I make a dent in it and then it is worse than ever in a couple of days. Good Luck.

    Todays list;
Have a shower and good scrub to wake me up.
Walk pooches up to my works office to sort paperwork.
    Ride friends horse (free!) :D
    Go foraging for brambles.
Drop in at mr T on way back, need sugar (for bramble jam) and bread but nothing else.
Meals from stores, tapas for tea tonight.
List a couple of bits on Ebay (am now waiting for 3 unpaids from last week, GRRRR). The free listing weekends always fall on my working weekends. :(
Try and get my head into some college work. (am always listing this but it never gets done.
    Check banking.
Try and smile, fresh air might help ( cloudy today though)

    Have a good Monday everyone.

    Debt-free and Proud!
    Hi All

Posting what I plan to do instead of what I have/haven't done! The joys of being part time. Kids are 'gainfully occupied' sliding down the stairs on cushions and pillows..and I get a chance to have a hot cup of tea (miracle!) and a sneaky look on here!

    - made a PAD to my credit card. Need to do this more regularly. It's more than my signature so need to amend that but some of it's is out of synch as use for work expenses plus OH uses it so even though record OH's expenditure as well as my own will need to look carefully for the real picture
    - today we will have our lovely HM chicken lunch with rice and peas. Should suit everyone. Then off
to allotment to water peas and dig up potatoes and go to gym with kids in a free class so should be a NSD
    - looks like being sunny so hoping for a good leccy generation day today with my PV panels. Will put on washing after lunch plus dishwasher and charge mobile phones so hoping to have free/almost free
    leccy too

Think that's it, have a good day everyone

Hope you're all well & the sun is shining where you are too!

DNMS - Thanks for starting us off, I'm going to try & be with you :)
Tebheag - Enjoy your vacation, just because you're not jetting off somewhere fancy doesn't mean you can't put your feet up & relax!

I am back at work today & feeling absolutely shattered, not sure why but it took me ages to drop off to sleep last night, & then after less then 2 hours I woke up & was wide awake again  Going to try for an early night I think...but I guess that depends how things go with my list today as I want to keep up instead of letting things get out of hand again.

    SO today's plan:-
    • [STRIKE]Used freebie deodorant that I have been paid to trial[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Used freebie moisturiser [/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Food from stores [/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Stay in at lunchtime to avoid the shops![/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Dinner from meal plan[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Check online banking[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Check for surveys[/STRIKE]
    • Enter comps
    • [STRIKE]Check ebay[/STRIKE] - 1 watcher only so far :(
    • [STRIKE]Charge phone via pc[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Work on wedding related tasks[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Check out flylady thread & tackle at least level 1[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Take refillable water bottle to Polenastics tonight & get a lift there[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Check music magpie to see what we'd get for a few games OH was thinking of sellng[/STRIKE] - Absolutely zilch lol
Have a great, moneysaving day everyone x
