Value 12 roll of toilet roll?

Hello! I was wondering if you could clear something up for me!

This time last year I basically stocked up on value toilet paper - from asda, tesco and sainsburys (12 roll) Just kept buying about 5 packs with every order I made and got quite a collection! Well, it's been a year and I'm down to my last pack :rotfl:

So thought I would put another online order in. Went to Asda but for a week now there 12 roll value paper has not been in stock. So I checked in Tesco. Not in stock. Check Sainsburys. Not in stock. I'm I just being unlucky here or has something gone on since I last did an online shop that they are no longer selling 12 pack value toilet roll online??

Any information would be greatly appreciated! I get it delivered because it's such a bulky item I hate buying it and having to carry it home!

Same thing happened to me, in Morrisons.

There 12 value rolls have been replaced by a 4 pack of double sized rolls. So now you get 8 rolls worth of paper for the price you used to pay for 12 rolls.

Oh, and they've made the holes smaller, so now the rolls don't fit onto my pole type holder!

Our Sainsbugs and A$da have 6 pack of the jumbo rolls now instead of the 12 smaller ones, I did check at first and they had the same number of sheets as 2 smaller ones.
  • Thank you for the information, so it seems they are phasing these out?

I will be on the lookout for these other types when I do my shopping today (going to Morrisons as it happens).

Can't believe it had been so long since I bought toilet roll :rotfl:
  • I get mine from Lidl now, they do 10 packs of 250 sheets for about £1.66 (I think - it was cheaper when I bought it!!).

Few weeks ago it was £1.36
  • I might have a wander up there at some point. Only problem with Lidl is that it is outside the main town centre and is quite a way from my house. A bit of a pain when I don't have a car :( Thanks for the heads up! I got the double roll when I went to Morrisons but it's certainly not as good value as the 12 rolls used to be I don't think.

So Lidl it might be ;)

After reading (on here) that Farmfoods have brand of toilet and kitchen rolls called Nicky, I bought some today. Haven't used them but they look fine. The toilet rolls are 3ply and the kitchen roll is broad enough to fit my roll holder.

Much cheaper than other "bargins", but not tested yet. !!!

This isn't correct, Tescos have put the wrong price per 100 sheets on their labels (and website).

Springforce price per 100 sheets is listed as 10.5p, which is correct (1890 / £1.99)

Tesco Value price per 100 sheets is listed as 17.6p, but actually it's 8.8p (1600 sheets / £1.40)

Meaning you're paying 34p extra on Springforce for the equivalent sheets as Tesco Value.

I tried to report this to CS but was told it was "only" 2p and they weren't interested. I tried to explain how 2p millions of times over across the country added up to a tidy profit for Tescos but they didn't care :(
