Hi there,
We have recently moved in a house we bought which has got a Veritas 8 Burglar Alarm installed. I have the booklet for instructions and the code for the alarm. But It keeps on giving a bleep every one minute (Not very loud and disturbing). I have tried resetting and unsetting the alarms and different things I could after reading the instruction but this bleep is still there. We have got used to it but was wondering, if it is normal or does it mean a low battery or something?
Thanks for reading.
Any suggestions will be highly appreciated

Well I was going to ask if it ran on batteries.
My fire alarm does this when the battery is low so I would go down that route to be honest.
(And I know it it soooo annoying, cos youre waiting for it)
If that doesnt work, it may need to be services.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

Thanks but it is run on the mains AC although a battery is provided in the unit just in case of a mains failure.I wanted to thankyou a million times but its a shame that I can press the button just once :T0 -
Even while the mains supply is working it could be a sign the battery is faulty(not charging) depending how old the battery is.
Or the installer could have programmed a service reminder onto the system which activates the chime programme(this is a Veritas option).
Any lights indicating on the keypad when the 'beep' sounds?0 -

No lights indicating on the control panel. Will give the installer a ring and find out.

Battery is low on one or more of the sensors? They only last about a year.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Have you checked the battery is connected? Some devices like mains smoke alrams with battery back up beep if installed without the battery, before removing the cover to check you must isolate the power to the unit.
The pervious home owner may have dissconnected for what ever reason, or it could mean the battery is working but there is no mains power getting to it, just some ideas for you to check out.0 -
Thanks everybody. It is sorted now.
Called up the person who had installed the alarm and he suggested, it cannot be battery as the alarm is brand new and then he listened the beep over the phone and suggested that this might be from a smoke alarm. And bingo it was... the low battery in the smoke alarm.
Why didn't I think about it!!!!! I was just concentrating on the burglar alarm.... silly me!
Thanks againI wanted to thankyou a million times but its a shame that I can press the button just once :T0
