Shower thermostat not working - new part or new shower?

Hi,
we have a Aqualisa thermostatic mixer shower with a combi boiler in our new house. The shower temperature varies hot/cold all the time. It is not related to other people using water in the house and the water pressure remains constant.
Our electrician advised us that it's a simple job to change the thermostatic part of the shower so we looked up the part. The manufacturer sells them for £107.
I've looked and I can buy a new shower with a 5 year guarantee for around £200 although I would have to pay someone to fit it. Also it's been pointed out to me that it may not be an exact fit and may therefore also require some re-tiling.
Any thoughts?

You won't get a new cartridge for much less than £ 100. It'll be a five minute job to change (although it might need a suitably sized box spanner and an awful lot of ignorance to remove thge old). Change the inlet filters at the same time! The change the whole thing option isn't that sensible for reasons you've already stated.

Are you sure its not the boiler? Make sure the boiler is running all the time the shower is on.0
