I posted a few weeks ago for information about hard wiring computers and xboxes in a barn I am converting. Since then the electrician has first fixed the electrics and wired up the underfloor heating room stats using Cat5e.
There is a lot of metres of this cable left over,
On the side of the cable it says Cat 5e, lan cable UTP, solid 4 pairs. Would this cable be alright to use to hard wire the computers/xboxes?

But Cat 5e is better as it supports gigabit-speed ethernet too.0 -
gigabit isn't really required in a home environment. 100Mb is fast enough for game consoles and computers.0
