I would strongly recommend that whoever you go with, you get a very firm idea of their schedule. I have had a lot of trouble lately with plumbers who are simply too busy - they start a job for you and then are very slow to finish due to new jobs coming up!Always overestimating...0

Bit of a thread res.
I think the wife and I settled on a fella to do our work. Since we're first-time buyers I'm not really sure what the next step is?
Do I get a costing off of him to make sure there are no hidden costs etc?
All help appreciated lol.0 -
Great forum!
I'm wanting to get gas installed also. House is a 3 bed, 1 bathroom semi. Currently oil fired. Also wanting to get a bathroom modernised and some other plumbing jobs.
Can the folks who were PMing advice, please send it to me as well?
Thanks in advance.0 -
Dubb get a costing detailing what it includes - make of boiler etc and get it in writing. If you have already had Phoenix out you then tell them that you are using whatever installer you have chosen to use. They will sort out the Meter connection date and then the installer will do the rest. If you havent met with Phoenix then the installer can arrange everything for you and you'll get an extra £100 cashback.

Hello, could someone please send me the list of reliable gas installers for Belfast please?
I am considering gas as my near 25yr old oil boiler is going to give up very soon.
Thanks very much.:)0 -
Ex-Spendaholic - would appreciate a PM if possible!
Looking for a quote for 3 bed detached, currently oil, but want to remove this and install gas. Need to get an idea of what can be done before Phoenix chooses where the supply is located. Want to ideally put combi boiler upstairs where the immersion tank would have been (it's beside bathroom so possibly potential for it to link into bathroom drainage?). Would also like to put in fixed supply to where we are going to put a gas fire (but not immediately), and possibly also a fixed supply to kitchen (for a gas hob) - both not to be connected initially as jobs will be done as we have the money!0 -
