    Here's the plan for today.

    • Find the electricity bill and pay it in my lunch break.
    • Phone Santander and get the direct debit sorted out.
    • Get my application to re-register sent off.
    • Realise I'm back to square one with smoking and force myself through the 3 day withdrawal. It's not too hard. I've done it a million times and I've only relapsed for a week, and not even every day.
    • Get my overtime booked in this week. There is still time to get it done.
    • Apply for my expenses.
    • Get my car booked in for it's MOT due at the end of this month.
    • Remember that this will all pass and things are actually ok. I have a good job, my family and friends are all well and I have brilliant plans for Chirstmas.

Well just look at you Ani - I think you probably hit the lowest point a couple of posts ago and you have bounced right up again with a very doable plan - give yourself a pat on the back:j:j

Boo to missing your registration fees - it happens but you have sorted it:D BTW do you claim tax relief on those fees? If you dont look into it and you can claim up to 6 years:D

PhD application - shelved mind for now. Too much uncertainty. Almost applied for a job in the dept though but when I read the job spec they so obviously had someone in mind which I checked out with friend who works in dept and she more or less confirmed it - she wasn't happy either! Mind you the way work is going at moment I may well look at PhD again:eek:

Make money saving debt paying your hobby - sound weird ( and a little bit sad:rotfl:) but it works - just an hour a week 'dealing with it' will make all the difference

Smoking...................hey what do I know......... I'm a life long non smoker with a life long non smoker OH with both parents and both grandparents on both sides also life long non smokers. You know what to do:cool:

    Onwards and upwards Ani:)

My new to do list is:
    • Abandon overtime idea, I really don't have time this week
    • Get MOT oganised
    • Do expenses application
I cannot tell you the hassle I'm having with Santander. I'm trying to set up a DD and actually arrange to give them money and they're still giving me grief. I cannot wait to be finished with all this debt tending to that I have to do. I hate it.

I know I mentioned this before but I also want to add that my employers are trying to sack me and a whole load of other people again. The 'restructure' which everyone fought so hard against, that we thought we had won, is being sneaked in the back door. I'm not even angry, I didn't expect anything better from them.

Two jobs went 2 weeks ago, people are being moved around not sacked, other posts are going and people being encouraged to apply for training posts in the organisation. It's time for me to take back control. They still need sessional workers (can't advertise cos of restructure, where do we find them, plucked out of thin air?) but I could keep my 1:1 work going on a sessional basis. I have done this before and it's hard but it would be better than waiting to lose my job.

My slimming world interview went really well last night. I think I did well enough. I will hear today. There is an initial outlay which is the only drawback and also I woud need to go for a couple of days training down south. But if I managed to get my group opened for the second week of January then I keep hearing it's easy to make your outlay back in just a few weeks. I would really love to do something so totally different from my day job. It sounds like a lot of fun and stress relief after the job I'm in now.

Does anyone have any thoughts on how daft it is or not to leave my job right now? I know with the economic climate it seems crazy. But I'm so dragged down by it and stressed out that I have less energy for the things I'm doing to invest in my future. Like my studies and everything I need to do for that.

Don't know what to do. May have some more choices after hearing from slimming world today. If I had this, in addition to sessional work, I would be able to manage.

Newleaf, any info you can give me about the consultant job would be much appreciated. Have you done it? Or know someone who does? It's scary but I'm totally up for anything right now.

    Sounds promising with SW.

I am experiencing similar level of !!!!!! in my place with staffing issues - they have employed some one PT for admin - we desperately need someone for admin - but actually she isn't an admin person she is in fact a TA who can be used to cover the other TA posts which they havent filled................so we havent got any admin. Feel sorry for the poor b00gers who applied for the job who have admin skills!

I hate the dodgy Spanish bank too - boy have they cost us money over the years - we have outstanding complaints with them.......

What have the spanish bank been up to? Woud love to hear more Igamogam. They are my main bank now after closing my joint account with ex-OH. This goes against Martin's advice as I also have around £2700 of CC debt with them. That's a problem for another day though.

I'm enjoying a lovely relaxed saturday morning in bed, curled up with furry purrball best boy cat and my laptop. The sun is shining and I may even be tempted outside to wash the car at some point. Thank goodness for weekends. I thought I was going a little insane this week at work.

I was expecting a phone call from slimming world yesterday but it didn't happen. This means, evidently, that they don't want me. Never mind. Other options to explore. I also had a lovely long chat with a work pal last night who is doing a brilliant job of helping contain my anxieties and encouraging me to stay. I truly have some lovely people in my life, she is one of them, and I told her so.

I'm looking forward to having a potter about today, maybe a little housework, some meal planning and shopping, and also planning my outfit for a wedding I'm going to next saturday. I bought a dress online with my bonus. It was £30 which I thought was not too bad. It is black and covered in embroidery, I feel like a gothic princess in it. Fabulous. Just need to figure out the shoes and all the rest. Hotel is booked and paid for so I will be having a night of luxury. I can't wait.

I made a start on christmas shopping yesterday as a work pal had brought in a catalogue of fancy chocolates. I thought they'd make a real change from the usual bumper boxes of celebrations, roses and all of that. So all my female family members are being treated to these, some in the shape of small cupcakes, some in the flavour of posh desserts, and my wee niece is getting some choccie santas in a choccie sleigh. They should be light enough to post to the states too for my sis and her partner. Just need to add a wee something else for them both. I'm really going to enjoy christmas this year. Ex-OH was all bah humbug at that time of year so this year will be a proper special celebration of the season of good will. The challenge is on to keep the cost right down.

I need your help, oh wise mse friends.

I'm pondering taking out a loan to pay back ex-MiL. I know this seems a bit nuts when my debt to her is interest free but I can't stand still having that connection. (And I know what she's like, she'll be complaining like mad to everyone who will listen.)

While I'm at it I could add on enough to pay off my cap 1 card which is at 30% interest.

I realise this plan sounds a little like debt consolidation which is a very bad thing. But my monthly payments would be similar except without the constant guilt that I owe MiL. And I'm not consolidating the whole lot, it would be £3k, £1635 to MiL and £1300 to cap 1.

After a quick online search I could get this at around 8%.

    Anyone have any thoughts?
