  • I built my spreadsheet from scratch and would be happy to share it, however it is in Lotus format and not Excel so wouldn't be much use to anyone. I'm sure there is an excel budget planner on mse somewhere, which may be useful to you. I will go and have a hunt and, hopefully, find a link to post.

    I'm feeling better! :j:j:j

It's almost worth being sick to appreciate how good it is to recover. :D

I'm definitely going out today, just 'cos I can. :p We need cat litter urgently. Biggest purrball was standing in a black bucket in the kitchen this morning doing a pee. Thankfully there was nothing in the bucket but he's scared of the wind, didn't want to go outside and thought it must have been the closest thing to a litter he could find, bless him. So it's the pet shop for me.

I'm off the cigs as of today. Probably best if I don't talk about it.

I have some things to drop off at a local charity I used to work for so will do that when I'm out. This is all part of decluttering and is flylady's fault.

Reading for uni, train tickets to buy, back to the usual and so, so happy to be able to do it all!

YEY!!!!!!!!!!! Have a great sunday everyone. :)

LOL. I'm pretty sure that the huffing, puffing and glaring are all signs of good parenting! ;)

    Hi everyone :D

Yes by some miracle I'm still not smoking. :j I can't quite believe it but so far it's ok and this is day 5.

The car is home from the garage, MOT-ed and good to go for another year. Just waiting on the bill. Nervously.

My new 0% card has not arrived yet so I'm trying to be patient waiting for that.

I have found a spreadsheet (thanks Igamogam) and am trying to get to grips with it. It's quite fun but I don't really know what I'm doing with it yet.

OH has made £20 selling stuff and a lot of orders are coming in. I'm delighted. It's all good for the budget.

I heard from the long-term staff at work on monday that the christmas bonus used to be a whole months' wage. Then another year it was half a months' wage. As you can imagine, I got a bit carried away imagining what I would do with that money and hoping for the best this year.

Found out yesterday we're getting nothing. So that is that bubble burst. I had it spent on perspex for double glazing, slabs so we could then put up the shed that's been hanging around the garden for a year, a few months' train tickets in advance then the rest on debt. Back to the drawing board on how to pay for all that.

Anyway, hope everyone is well. Can't wait to get back here later when I have more time to catch up properly. :)

Really just zooming by - but thought I'd suggest checking out freecycle for slabs...I've seen batches go on when people are re-doing their gardens/patios etc.

And if the account is all set up for the card, you may be able to transfer balances online before even getting the plastic through the door - at least I could with my HSBC one. Had pretty much maxed it's 0% balance transfer offer before the card had been produced!

    Nora.
  • Ani, very well done with the no smoking. I've never smoked but hope you stick it out. It's a total waste of money & not good for your health. Also good to see you making progress on the financial front.

    Hey everyone

Ayeshalush...thanks for the spreadsheet link. I'm having a lot of fun trying to figure it all out but will hopefully end up with a system that works better than my current one. It's a shame you live so far away and these wee trees just aren't postable. Getting them to people is a real problem. But OH is still grafting away and selling them so I'm happy. :)

Igamogam...those cats using the toilet are fab. I looked up a how-to-train-your-cat online once but OH didn's want to queue for the toilet in the morning behind 3 cats. :rotfl:I wouldn't mind as long as I didnt have to clean litter trays out. But they would have to learn to flush too. :D

Twizzle and WAM...I'm still not smoking! But have a weekend visiting a pal to deal with...may allow myself one or two and try not to beat myself up about it. I just want to enjoy myself.

Knitting Nora...thanks for the tip about freecycle for slabs. I am a member of our local group but I know you need to check every single email when you're looking for something in particular and I've been a bit lazy. Slabs will cost about £100 so it would be well worth keeping an eye out for free ones.

So happy it's the weekend. :j I've missed you all. :A
