Taking a Slow Cooker to France

Hiya,

I hope this is the right place to post this. We're going away to France in November/December, and rather than spend ages cooking or eating out each night, DH suggested we take the slow cooker. I think this is a great idea - i appreciate i'll need an adapter plug of some sort - but can anyone tell me if it would be safe to leave it on unattended for hours with the different current/voltage in France? Many thanks xxx

Perhaps get a cheap one at CarreFour when you are there.

Take yours, it's the same voltage as us in France, but get a decent adaptor, not a cheap and nasty one.

The voltage in the whole of the EU is 230V the same as the UK. Yes it mostly reads 240V but it within the tolerances of 230V plus or minus 10%.

The current running through the cable for a slow cooker is very low. Nothing to worry about there.

  • Thanks all for your help - I will get a decent adapter and take ours xxx

It is Disney and the Davy Crockett Ranch we're going to. TBH i've been to disney before, not that keen on the food there - particularly the prices!!! As DD is only 3, i don't think going out for food in the evening is a good plan!!! Thank you for your reply - I too think it's one of the best ideas ever xxx:T

Perhaps not a good idea with all cars but I've used a slow cooker in the back of my Land Rover while travelling. As has been said, the current draw is very low so even a small inverter will power it.

Obviously, the cooker and it's lid need securing properly.
