Boxing Day Chutney. I use a recipe from channel 4, it was on Kirstie Allsop programme a few years ago. Can be eaten straight away but also keeps well. Goes perfectly with cold turkey and ham.

  • Thank you for all your suggestions. I think I'm going to start with the chilli jam and see if I have time left at the weekend for a chutney as well. Also decided to make him some choc covered pretzels as the ones you can buy in the shops are horrible.
  • I made roasted pepper and tomato chutney last week as gifts for Christmas, it's delicious-recipe here

I know vinegar is dirt cheap, but is there any reason why I cannot/shouldnt use the liquid from a jar of gherkins, olives, pickles or similar to make my chutney ?
