wifi connection problems

Hi,
I spend a lot of time away in the same hotel. The wifi connection worked fine with my laptop but recently I havent been able to connect at all. I get a message saying that the connection isn`t recognised.
i`m partially sighted so the hotel techie tried to reset the connection but the same rejection happened. There is nothing wrong with the hotel server.
Is it possible for my IP to be blocked for some reason? Can I get a new IP?
How do I delete the existing wifi connection and try to start from scratch, I can`t find any info within my pc help section.
My laptop is an Acer and it`s using Vista.
Any suggestions would be grateful;ly received.
Thanks in advance,
lakesman

There are many ways that you could have lost your connection the most common is your firewall deciding it wants to wind you up.
Try disconnecting it to see if you can communicate with the hotel router again.
If so, depending on which firewall you have, you can allow, via preferances, the hotels signal to pass through the firewall.0
