Airport transfers

Hi, apologies if this is in the wrong place but I have booked this year's holiday myself rather than using a travel agent, and the last thing I need to sort out is airport transfers.
Is this an area that can be done cheaply, and are there things I should be looking out for when booking?

On the assumption that you refer to transfers from airport to resort/hotel, then yes transfers can always be arranged with cost being dependant on a myriad of factors. If you post the airport and resort/hotel, I am sure folk will be able to help. The MSE Dictionary

https://www.airporttransfers.co.uk is a division of Hays Travel a large online agency.
They use most of the online transfer companies. A simple search normally produces the cheapest quote from all their suppliers.0 -
Excellent, thank you! I'm going from Gran Canaria airport (Las Palmas I believe) to Puerto Rico. It just seemed to be coming up much much cheaper going with quotes from companies I googled, compared to what was quoted when I booked the hotel, but now I know not to panic!

I always look at what public transport options there are - after all there are plenty of locals who work at the airport, and they don't all drive there or get taxis. Most airports usually have bus links, with reasonable frequencies.
In Rhodes a few years back, we used the local bus which was something silly like €1.50 each. We then heard someone in the hotel bragging that he got a good deal because he only paid €30 for the same trip.
If you have luggage, you can always get the bus to the town where the hotel is, and get the taxi from where the bus stops to the hotel.
An alternative is to simply turn up and ask one of the hotel transfer bus drivers how much "cash in hand" - we did this in Santorini. €5 each, free for the kids. The same company was offering transfers on the internet for €40! There was also a public bus that would have cost just a couple of euros, but this was door to door service!0
