Car clamping
Options
My daughter was clamped in the car park of her university just before xmas.
She had a permit to park but it was covered up by a leaflet on her dashboard.
Fine of £185 has been paid to release the car and I have lodged an appeal. However I am not hopefull that the clamping company (Parking Control Services) will accept the appeal.
Any advice to assist would be appreciated

I think it depends on the information you have supplied in your appeal. Clamper's exist to supposedly protect the interest of person who are entitled to park at specific locations(i.e permit) As the permit was not displayed, the vehicle was targeted because it was believed it was not permitted to be in the location that it was. The responsibility lies upon the holder of the permit to correctly display, however if it was displayed correctly at the time of leaving the vehicle and upon closing the door, a draft blew the paper over the permit, it cannot be the fault of that person;)0

if you think you should not have been clamped, for example because the warning notices were inadequate, or the release fee was too high, the only way to get your money back may be through the courts. A solicitor will be able to advise you on what chance you have of winning your case.

I dont know of anyone who has won a case of unreasonable release fees from a clamping company0
