cooker extraction hood

Hi,
Another kitchen question!!
We were planning on keeping our current extractor (which I think is a MFI make-approx 10 years old)
But it is very noisy. And although it seems powerful if you stand outside by the vent, there is still a lot of steam when you are using it.
So I was wondering if anyone can recommend a 60 cm stainless steel chimney style hood. It vents to the outside.
I would really like one as powerful as possible, and as quiet as possible. Our new cooker (freestanding, zanussi) has 2 weird vents at the back of the hob that let all the steam out from the oven, so we will be needing to use it a lot I think. (if I had known about the vents, probably wouldn't have bought it!)
Thanks

Hi,
Just bumping this up in case anyone can recommend an extractor
Thanks0 -
Extractors are noisy! You can pick up a basic s/steel hood from all sorts of places for about £100 or less. Compare the specs for extraction rate and db level though, some are better than others.
Many people pay a premium for form over function. Just because one is more expensive it does not mean that it has a better extraction rate or it will be quieter. Just the shape of it is more expensive to produce.
I think the lack of response to this thread suggests most people view their extractors as noisy tools which are there to do a job.
Not many people think, god I love my extractor!0
