Switching to Santander

Options
Hi Folks,

I was thinking of (again) switching to Santander in order to get the £100 incentive. I realise that the additional £55 available through Quidco ends tonight, but tbh I would rather just do this through sitting down with someone in a branch and getting it sorted that way. £100 plus the high interest on first £2,500 is somewhat appealing.

My question is this: How many DD's/S.O's must I switch in order to get the £100 ? Do I need to switch my salary, also ? It's just that my main (joint) bank account has the vast majority of my DD's, although my single one has just 2 or 3.

Thanks for any help,

Andy.

    Hi Andy,

Just wanted to ask you something but not sure if you opened this yet but when i opened my account i think they told me that i get £100 for transferring 2 dd and so and also another £100 if i put in £1000+ a month in for four months. Did they tell you this also or does anyone know if its true? or if its just £100 for both things?

    Thanks

    J

You only get one payment of £100 for transferring to them. To comply with the T&Cs for the £100 you must transfer using their account transfer service, transfer at least 2 standing order or direct debits, and transfer £1000 into the account per month - anniversary month not calendar month (this must be from an external account if opened wef 4 July 2011, but would appear that it could come from another Santander account if before 4 July 2011). Once the £100 cashback has been paid (within 3 months of account opening) you can cancel the standing orders/direct debits if you wish.
  • Yeah, just one £100 payment. Have been with A&L before to avail of the cashback, and what at the time was 6% interest, but this time I am going directly through the branch as the last switch was less than smooth ! I will be off and away after the 12 months. Have most of my DD's on my joint bank account, so there is very little for them to mess up. . .
