Also. Not free are they solicitors - go see them, send a letter....money comes anyway! Not me paying that solicitor.
Exactly.
The only thing that puzzles is why you agreed to refund them anything left over? They were clearly happy to pay the whole amount, why offer them some of it back?I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. It would be kind - but brave - to let the neighbours know what sort of person is moving in.0

Well we couldn't know if the fees were estimated or real so we agreed this. However they want full back as "they argue" there were stipulations, which there were not and if so were verbal and misunderstood.
I just want an easy life so they can have it all, what I don't like is the forceful "or else we will get a solicitor" comments. I have sold my house, I am happy.0 -

Life is too short, not getting involved in any of it. Just didn't like the "threats" and they have made it worse not better.

In your shoes I would right them a cheque for what you consider to be the amount agreed and send with a covering letter marked "in full and final settlement".I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
