Windows update stuck updating? SOLVED

Hi hopefully someone could advise.
My laptop needed a windows update (new laptop) so I shut down as requested. The update screen was stuck on 1 out of three for a good half hour, i put the laptop lid down so I could rest without the lights waking me. Got up this morning and it's back at the update screen and again we are stuck on one of three and for half an hour.
Is this normal for an update or is the laptop faulty?

Have you got the KB number from windows update, and which operating system is installed?0 -

edit - not to worry, started in safe mode, restarted and it correctly completed an update (not sure if it was the same one) laptop running smoothly for now.Comping wishlist for 2017
