Another Question - plasterboard doorway

Hiya again

Been taking more wallpaper off and found they put plasterboard over an old doorway from living room to kitchen. didnt put plaster on it so very bendy. Dh has taken the top half off to see what was there and there is still a door frame.

so should we knock through and make a window from living room to kitchen which would provide more light in kitchen. would that be easy?

if we dont do that how should we block the door up?

Take the botched job off and do it properly using some proper studding. The fact that it is not skimmed will not affect the finished job as long as you have studding at the correct centres. If you want to leave an opening in the wall for extra light then that is easy too. Just frame up an opening where you want the window to be.

Thank you. I like 'easy', means we should hopefully be able to manage it. Really wish we hadnt decided to decorate now!! :P
