MrsE, can't advise you on the cosmetics front, but just wondered whether you did online surveys? there are loads of companies to choose from, most pay in points which you convert to vouchers although there are a few that pay out in cash. Although its a s-l-o-w way of making £, it could be one way to treat yourself occasionally to something a bit more posh than you would normally buy for yourself at the mo.

My nan used Nivea every day for 80 years and had lovely soft skin on her face until the end.

Again, not cheap, but QVC do good deals fairly often including kits - Elemis Pro Collagen Marine cream, it moisturises enough, but is light enough as well, it is for all skin types and it comes in jars and tubes depending on how much ml you buy, I absolutely love this stuff! I am 44 and have combo skin, a bit dry on the cheeks sometimes.

Simple actually scored really highly in a glossy mag I was reading in a waiting room.

Could you continue with what you were using and just use a serum underneath so you are still getting the anti-aging bit but are using a moisturiser that meets your 'light' requirements?

Yes, I've just wondered if there was something else out there. Some wonder product that ticked all my boxes.

Actually I've used the Olay 2 in 1 with built in serum too & the magic Boots ones P&P.

You know that you're asking for the impossible, right? To be rich it can't be light; if it is light then it won't be rich :)

That said, about two or three years ago I picked up a small tub of moisturiser in a chemist in an airport while I was waiting for a flight. For whatever reason the usual rules didn't apply: it was both light and rich at the same time. The next time I went through an airport I picked up a six month supply. I've now run out and am feeling the pain.

It is this: Boots Essentials Cucumber Moisturising Cream and costs a shocking £1.52 per 100ml tub.

I used to use DDML, my cleanser is Eve Lom and I slather my hair with Elasticizer and I think this stuff is brill. For 9 months of the year it is my moisturisor of choice, the other 3 months are just too hot to use anything.

It'll cost you a couple of pounds to give it a go, that's got to be worth a test, yes?

Thank you, but it really CAN'T be in a pot/jar, it has to be in a bottle.

Have you tried Pai skincare? I've got a few samples of their moisturisers (ordered for a few pounds off the internet because I was interested in the brand) and I find them light, but very moisturising. The sample pots seem to last forever aswell, but fear not, the full size version comes in a bottle with a pump. Not massively moneysaving at over 20 pounds per 30mls, but I think you can find it cheaper on the internet if you shop around (Amazon for example).

    Good luck!
