Facial moisturiser rich(ish) & superlight in texture?

I'm 43, nut I hate heavy moisturisers & like really light fluid ones (usually the ones meant for greasy skin).
But I want to make sure I'm getting enough moisturiser for my aging (:() skin.

I like Liz Earle for combo/oily skin & Clinique DDM gel (thats the newish one). I've used Olay foaming before too.

Is there anything else?

Something rich(ish) & superlight in texture?

I don't like heavy creams either but I do love Aldi Lacura range - better and cheaper than the high street shops. Google for some reviews.

    This one?

    http://www.aldi.co.uk/uk/html/product_range/product_range_13672.htm

It comes in a jar - I should have said, I have an adversion to day creams in a jar (:o).

Why don't you like jars, MrsE, as you can use all the product and see how much is left?

I'm currently using Coryse Salome for day time and it's OK, but in a jar.

But this company is rather good.

Because if its thick enough to be in a jar then the texture is too thick for me. I only like moisturisers that come in bottles.

I'm the same age as you and like the same type of product that you are looking for, I am currently using this http://www.skinnycosmetics.com/new_range_complex.html and its excellent if a bit pricey, I just hope my skin continues to like it, I've also tried Nivea Visage light which was nice but not quite enough for me, I am a huge Aveeno fan and they have recently bought out a facial range, I use their oatmeal body mosituriser as its very light, non oily/sticky and super mositurising (and doesn't strip my fake tan but thats another story) so I have very high hopes for the facial range which is called Aveeno Radiant but as I live somewhere where products are at least a year behind I haven't been able to try it yet.

how about 'hope in a jar'? the texture is so light and it helps my skin a lot. i've moved to the dry skin version, which is a bit thicker but still feels unlike any other cream i've tried. it really soaks in and when i used some elemis samples i had when i went away for a weekend, they felt really greasy in comparison - whereas in the past i thought they were fine! i've only bought it in a jar, but it comes in a tube as well on qvc (just checked!). some people don't like the smell according to review - but i don't really notice it and prefer it to some which are strongly floral or anything like that. i don't get that complaint at all tbh.

have a try if there's a shop near you that stocks it - i got my last jar in John Lewis. i use it day and night though rather than having a separate cream, but i'm trying the vitamin E oil from superdrug before it at night as an extra layer instead of a serum.

Would like to stick to things under £25 (less if possible). My financial circumstances changed a few months ago.
  • I love Avon Anew moisturiser - the Ultimate range is for 50+ but is so silky to apply. Currently in brochure14 it costs £14.
Presume the 40! range called Reverslist would be as good. That one is currently £13.

You know that you're asking for the impossible, right? To be rich it can't be light; if it is light then it won't be rich :)

That said, about two or three years ago I picked up a small tub of moisturiser in a chemist in an airport while I was waiting for a flight. For whatever reason the usual rules didn't apply: it was both light and rich at the same time. The next time I went through an airport I picked up a six month supply. I've now run out and am feeling the pain.

It is this: Boots Essentials Cucumber Moisturising Cream and costs a shocking £1.52 per 100ml tub.

I used to use DDML, my cleanser is Eve Lom and I slather my hair with Elasticizer and I think this stuff is brill. For 9 months of the year it is my moisturisor of choice, the other 3 months are just too hot to use anything.

It'll cost you a couple of pounds to give it a go, that's got to be worth a test, yes?
