Wii Component Cable

I'm on my Wii typing this but using the cable that came with the console. I plugged the comp cable in but my tv said 'picture format unavailable'. The tv manual says it supports 480p which is what the Wii outputs. Has anyone else used the comp cable? does the wii auto-recognise it and output 480p? i get the wii sound output and > can get my dvd player to work through the component inputs no the tv so > don't know what's wrong! I'm totally gutted as i only wanted to play Zelda no good setting and I don't know if I can wait much longer!

The Wii doesn't auto-select the 480p output (which should be 576 for the UK).

Go to your Wii settings, choose screen, then select EDTV/HDTV and it'll spit out 480/576p.

    Problem sorted.

There's another phrase, RTFM, which I'm sure you can work out! (no offence). ;)
