Can anyone advise on whether I should phone Diamond and explain my oversight?

You seem to be totally convinced that they are going to cancel your insurance, but it's very unlikely to happen. It will probably just cost you a bit more money.

You say you had a conference call with the DVLA so presumably your insurers know about your undisclosed points. What did they say about this?

They didn't say anything at the time. I've just called them and they said my premium has gone up by £70 which they've added to my future instalments. They also said that liability has been accepted by the TP insurer and it won't affect my claim in any way.

Hopefully this info might help someone in the same predicament in the future. Thanks for all the advice.
  • We were insured with Axa quite a few years back and my Husband had picked up a speeding ticket....however he didnt tell me about it and with me being the one who ALWAYS sorts out the car insurance , because I didnt know about the penalty points on his licence I hadnt declared them at renewal time for 2 years!

He then had a non fault accident and as I was also dealing with most of the paperwork etc to do with the accident , when Axa asked me to send in all the relevant docs (MOT certificate , driving licence etc) and my Husband finally confessed to me about the 3 points on the licence I freaked out!

There was nothing I could do but provide them with a copy of his licence and the next few weeks I fretted like mad wondering what Axa were going to do about the undeclared points.

After a few weeks though the claim was all sorted and the points were never mentioned again!

    I had worried for nothing.

We did however fully disclose the points at our next renewal.

my estimate of £80 wasnt far off
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

Glad it turned out ok(ish) for you . Must be a weight off your mind knowing that your insurance isnt going to be voided/cancelled.
