making a counter-case / proposal to not be made redundant?

Options
Currently going through a Collective Consult period -30 days pre- 'proposed' redundancy.

We've been told to make counter-cases / proposal as why not to be made redundant. I'm in a role 1 of 1 which is proposed to be removed (there are two others in the same role but in another country - and they are not impacted).

Would appreciate any advice on what types of items to consider in a counter-proposal (working part-time/ for less money etc is not an option).

Has anyone ever done this and had success or is this just a farce as we go through the process?

Thanks

The problem is you (and we) don't know whether or not it is a farce. If genuine, it is the kind of best practice that a good employer should be applying at this stage of the process. If not, it could be that they are simply going through the motions to help their defence against any subsequent Tribunal claims (and it will).

So you have to act as if its genuine I guess. All you can do is argue why your role (not you as an individual) needs to be continued to be done where it is done now - you are obviously best placed to come up with those arguments.

    Good luck.
  • Yup. I know noone will know if we are just going through a checkbox exercise - just wanted to know if anyone had been successful and if so what their situation was.

You need to understand your position as 1 of 3 worldwide if you want to save it.

Which country is easiest to drop.

    Which is cheapest to run

Whats the cost of redundancy in each.

Can 2 people do the work of the current 3

    Reporting hierarchy.
