...but just a tiny little wee small vent....
Near to where I live is a dual carriageway with a 40mph speed limit and a new yellow speed (sorry, safety) camera at one end of it. Coming down the hill from a 50mph zone most drivers (I'd approximate 80%) dribble down at 30mph just because,I'd guess, 1) they are scared of the camera or 2) they haven't read the speed sign.
Yes, I have bigger more important things to worry about and yes, it's silly, but yes, it really annoys me.
:rotfl: I feel better for getting it out.

Oh dear, that sounds like something I would do -- sorry.
Too engulfed in conversation or listening to the radio :eek:0 -
I also find this extremely annoying. Invariably people who are already travelling within the speed limit then reduce their speed dramatically to pass one of these cameras.
Failing to make progress at a speed appropriate to the conditions would cause them to fail their driving test so why does anyone think that it is OK to do this? A sharp blast of the horn is probably the best solution as they aren't paying attention to their driving (sorry to those who live beside these cameras)."When the people fear the government there is tyranny, when the government fears the people there is liberty." - Thomas Jefferson0 -

I very much doubt that will do any good.
How is anyone supposed to interpret that?
They'll probably think one of two things:
1) Yes, I'd already noticed the speed camera, thanks.
2) Why is that pillock sounding his horn - he's probably just spotted a friend. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -

Drivers dont have to drive at maximum speed, so if limit is 40mph and they drive at 30mph so what? It maybe annoying to you it aint going to change over night0

It is dangerous, and if drivers did this during their driving test they would never be given a licence in the first place."When the people fear the government there is tyranny, when the government fears the people there is liberty." - Thomas Jefferson0 -

I know that and I don't expect it - I'm just having a legitimate rant. It's especially annoying because these drivers will drive at the maximum speed allowed except when passing the speed (sorry, safety) camera when they go to 10mph under the limit.
I don't expect change, I don't expect sympathy and I don't expect anything much...just wanted to get it off my ample chest.

Blast your horn at me and you'll find that steady 30MPH soon turned into 20!0 -

Actually, 20 would be much better in a 40MPH zone as it would give more opportunities for those who know how to drive to overtake you."When the people fear the government there is tyranny, when the government fears the people there is liberty." - Thomas Jefferson0
