british gas rip off!!

hi guys new too this and im after some advice I moved in too a new build 3 bed house last year with solar powered pannels also fitted with energy saving bulbs!! any way my bills for eletric have been about £80 a month im not 100% convinced it is correct i have spoken too customer services and they said it is accurate as I have given them a meter read now I allways turn things off at night tv phone lights and im out all day most days I am currently on standard electricity energy smart!! I have also complained too british gas twice as I feel it is incorrect i dont expect too pay nothing but looking at my mates thet spend £40 a month without solar powered pannels and of course everyone has different usgae but surely mine cannot be right i noticed this july british gas rekoned i used 772.6 kwh in one month?? any help will be appreciated :money:

Welcome to the forum.

Firstly PV solar panels will save you on average about £70 a year; indeed as you are out all day -probably less than £70.

You don't say you have gas for heating, so if you are all electric, £80 a month(£960 pa) is very cheap - even for a new build house with good insulation.

772.62kWh in a month would be high in Summer, but very low in winter.

cheers for reply I have got gas central heating im thinking im on the wrong tarrif but i will look into this so what would i expect roughly too pay with gas central heating thanx
