London City Airport connections

It's not that difficult, but be prepared to spend at least 90mins on the tube, which maay not be ideal (or even possible) if for example you flight is very early in the morning.
From London City Airport, you will need to take:- a DLR to Canning Town
- The jubilee line to Stratford (but don't worry, there are lifts at both Canning Town and Stratford, but there will be a little bit of walking at Stratford)
- The Central Line westbound to Mile End
- Cross the platform at Mile End to the District Line
- Get down at either Baron's Court or Hammersmith - at both stations access to the Picadilly Line is by crossing the platform, so again minimum hassle with luggage
- the correct exit for LHR
- a good book / the Sunday supplements to make the journey bearable!

Easy enough but time consuming - an alternative to the above would be Jubilee Line from Canning Town to Westminster, lift to District Line platforms, then to Barons Court or Hammersmith for cross platform transfer to Piccadilly line to Heathrow. All step free and no hassle
The TfL journey planner may try to direct you via Paddington/Heathrow Express - it will save a few minutes at best and cost a LOT more0 -

Id suggest you take a look at tfl's planner because there is no need whatsoever to use the central line when the jubilee will get you to Westminster. You've just added time and effort into an otherwise reasonable journey."If you no longer go for a gap, you are no longer a racing driver" - Ayrton Senna0 -
One should be able to take the DLR direct from London City Airport to Stratford.VfM4meplse wrote: »From London City Airport, you will need to take:- a DLR to Canning Town

Anyhow it is not possible to give precise advice at this time, but unless one wants to travel on Christmas day there will public transport available, and apart from the first leg alternative train services.0 -
