in Credit cards
My husband was in his last job for 25 years and was made redundant earlier this year. So he got a good pay off.
We also use clubcard vouchers to pay for days out. I would like to earn £54 by next Easter to buy Merlin passes for the family. So I was thinking of increasing the points we earn by using a Tesco club card instead of our Barclaycard.
We have never gone mad on our credit card and pay it in full every month. So what do you think of our chances of an application to Tesco credit card been accepted?

When you apply for the card they will ask for details of your income. If you apply in his name then you will need to state his current monthly income which I assume is low.
You can tell them about your banked redundancy money, but I expect they will be more interested in his monthly income as an indicator of his ability to service a credit card balance.
But I wish you the best of luck.....0 -
Sorry, but if you are unemployed you are unlikely to get any mainstream credit card, no matter how good your credit record is or how much you have in savings.
If you haven't applied for any other credit recently and not likely to, it won't do any harm to give it a go, but if you make lots of applications you might find Barclaycard withdrawing your card, because lots of applications creates a poorer credit record.We need the earth for food, water, and shelter.

The earth does not belong to us.

Unemployed = highly unlikely
Housewife = probably not
Retired = Possible
Employed = Possible0
