Prestige car servicing
I was just looking to get my car serviced and hoped not to use a main dealer at the high prices they generally cost, so did a search and came up with these. http://www.prestigecarservicing.com/index.html It says they have one in my area but but don't say where obviously want me to book through their site. However I am loath to give my car to somebody I don't know.
Has anybody heard of or better still used these people and if so would you recommend them ?

Quite a lot of (mostly negative) comments here.... http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/forum/post/index.htm?t=46966
Not something that sounds too attractive, I'd say!!

I needed to get my car serviced recently, needed timing belt doing as well. Stumbled accross the Prestige site but to be honent I was turned off for exactly the same reasons as on the honestjohn forum, not overly cheap, no contact details, spelling mistakes etc and the main thing is you have no idea where your car is going.
I found another company Car Service Direct, there search thing is a lot more detailed, you put in your postcode and get a list of members in that area, all with individual addresses and phone numbers so you can pick one and book in directly with them. The best thing about it is motorists can leave feedback after, similar to the ebay thing so you can get an idea about who you're dealing with.
I ended up going with a local company listed on there who had a good rating, got the job done and I have to say I was impressed, the staff were lovely, I got to talk directly to the mechanic when I picked it up and I saved about £150 on the local renault dealer. I will be returning.0 -
It's an old thread, I know. But just thought I would add my opinions on this one. I'd avoid them like the plague. Some of their "excellent" reviews have been written by Mr Martin Skinner - the owner of Prestige Car Servicing!!0
