You should read the full article on ppi reclaiming, this will tell you how to start off including contacting the company for copies of your paperwork or submitting a subject access request(SAR), this should get you all the info required to kick start your reclaim, if you feel you have been mis-sold, there are many reasons for being mis-sold and the more you can remember to back up your complaint the better.
Once you are ready to make your complaint, fill in the FOS consumer questionnaire, this is in the reclaim section also, fill it in, keep a copy for yourself and send it off to your lenders then strap in for a long ride, if you put your complaint in to your banks before 31st August they have 16 weeks to give you a final response, if you wait till the 1st September or later they will have 12 weeks to give you a final response.
Good luck and keep us posted on how you get on.Thanks to all the competition posters.0 -
If any of the accounts are with your bank, another way is to call in and give them your bank account number, and they may check out all accounts you have taken out with them, plus confirm if ppi etc.
If mis sold, then it basically just a matter of completing a reclaim questionnaire as on step 3 below, send to the complaints dept or head office - of whoever set up and sold you the accounts, remember to keep copies for yourself as well.
Some banks have been given more time, so instead of the usual 8 weeks, its 16 weeks, although they "may" still resolve by then, good luck and please keep us posted.

If you want to request a SAR as mentioned as well by Smitchy, there is a full SAR letter template letter below, if you had a few accounts with the same company then one SAR is sufficient, they should send all data of all the accounts taken out with them, so you enclose the one off £10 cheque or postal order, they have 40 calendar days to comply.
If separate companies, then SAR will be requested for separately.
Normally for a SAR you would require the account number, but if you do not have these, then give them as many details as possible, full name, address, any other addresses whilst taking out the accounts, date of birth, any change of surnames and so on.

Another thing as well, if you bank online, the loan account numbers maybe shown on the statements, it normally allows you to go back to about 2002, and if you repaid the loan payments out of your bank as well then hopefully the account numbers will be shown next to the loan monthly repayment, hope this helps, good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"
