For just liability and the value of the scooter your home insurance is the cheapest and best (cost from zero to a tenner for my £5k mobility aids depending on which policy I put them on), most other mobility aid insurance is usless for any practical purpose and recover insurance is just a joke.0 -
thanks i will give them a call on monday0

Beware of theft cover we were previosly insured with mark bates when our scooter was stolen from the boot of our car on the drive we put in a claim and the policy states it must be kept in a locked building over night therfore they would not pay out on the claim
We then changed to lockton who coverd the scooter providing it was kept in suitible locked accomadation over night such as a building, shed,or car however the renewal has just come through and the under writers have been changed from Allianz PLC to RSA and it will not be coverd if it is not in locked accomadation overnight (9pm-6am) at the normal place of residance
I telephoned lockton who confirmed it would only be coverd at home
Ok if you dont go on holiday and want to take scooter indoors every night If any one knows of a policy that covers this situation please let me know the moral is make sure you read the documents before commiting yourself
Thank you0 -
I've found a site that is independent and although they don't appear to offer insurance themselves, they have listed the 6 top sources in the UK, so at least you can visit them and do a comparison.

Seems the policies are in the region of £75 a year which doesn't sound too bad to me?0 -
Should mobility scooter insurance be compulsory? Please vote on our Poll -Google "mobility scooter insurance" and click on our site Help My Mobility. If the results are "for" insurance we will petition the government...0
