"Expected" wear in warranty?

Hello,
I purchased a Lenovo Z560 less than a year ago now, I'm typically used to Lenovo laptops having a high build quality due to the fact I've own many ThinkPads in the past however I instead opted for an Ideapad. I've noticed that the area under the keyboard where I rest my palm the aluminium is starting to wear away, I've treated this computer extremely well (it has mainly been kept at a desk or in a padded bag) and the only place where it shows on the casing is where I rest my palm.
Would it be possible for me to send this back as part of the warranty? I understand that it is "wear and tear" but surely the section where I will rest my palm should be strong enough to withstand casual use. I've known people who own Sony Vaio's who use a similar finish and it does not wear off like it has on my laptop.
Anyone's ideas would be greatly appreciated

If it is cosmetic, no, that is the definition of wear and tear if a item looses it's lustre or sheen after being used.0

Righto thanks for the help, I might contact Lenovo and ask to see if I'm lucky. If not I'll switch back to Thinkpads, I love matte finishes and this is one of the reasons
