What is the best time to go to supermarkets for markdowns & whoopsies?

Does anyone know? I mainly go to Tescos, but sometimes Asda & Sainsburys too. I love getting good marked down bits, but never sure when is the best time to go for them?

Not stupid at all love, it all depends where you live, and what stores you can get to. It means goingi nto these at different times and see if you strike lucky. see if there is a pattern to the really good reductions.GoodluckSlimming World at target0 -

No, for two reason
1. All stores are different, and we don't know which store you shop in
2. Most stores reduce gradually, they may reduce items by 50%, then if there are any left half an hour later reduce them to 25%, and if there are any left half an hour later reduce them to 10%.
Obviously, the best time to go is when they reduce them to 10%. But they may not have any left by then, they may all be snapped up as soon as they are reduced to 50%, or when they are reduced to 25%.
So it's not just a case of knowing when they are reduced to the bare minimum, it's also knowing if they have any left to reduce.
I live a minute away from Morrisons, and know the times they reduce things like 4 in store bakery pies from £2.80 to £2, then to £1.50, then to £1, then to 49p, then to 29p then to 15p.
Sometimes I go in just before they will be reduced from £2 to £1.50 and there is nothing left to reduce. Other times there are still pies left when it is time to reduce them to 15p.
I live in a small town, and think that 75% of the people who shop there walk to it, not drive. And I've found that you need to keep an eye on two things, the weather and the TV.
If it's been raining for a while, like last Thursday, they have loads of reductions. If there is something women like to watch on TV, like X Factor, they have loads of reduction left.
But if the weather is fine and there is nothing special on TV then the shelves are bare after the first or second reduction.
And there is no point in looking for reductions on the first Thurs, Fri, Sat & Sun of the month. Thats when the people who get paid monthly/live to far to walk drive in, to do a monthly shop, and pick the shelves clean before any reduction are made.
I suppose what I am trying to say is, find out for your self. Go shopping a bit later each time and see what is left and what it is reduced to. Sometimes you will get nothing, and other times you will pick up some great bargains.0
