When to shop for whoopsies

Hi all,

I know that I spend way too much on my food bill each month, and while I am taking steps to reduce this Im looking to do it even further. I know that shops do whoopsie foods but whenever I seem to go there's never much there- does having 24 hour shopping have an affect on this now or not as some major supermarket chains don't 'close' for very long? So my question to you all is when and where is the best time to go to get lots of whoopsie choice? Im quite fortunate that I have access to a lot of stores either in my town or next one over. Theres is asda, netto, lidl and aldi in my town and tesco, morrisons and sainsbury in the next couple of towns. Any advice would be greatly appreciated :T

I just want to know what on earth a 'whoopsie' food is!?!

All I can now think of is Michael Crawford as Frank Spencer talking about baby Jessica's bodily functions. :eek:

Food that is reduced. I think they are called Whoopsie because in ASDA the stickers have Whoops on them, none of the other supermarkets do though.

Check out some of the other threads on whoopsies using the search function, there was 1 started only recently,

just to say whoopsies in lidl and aldi are rare well they are from my experience, i know lidl have put loaves of bread on the bench by the tills for you to take for free

The stuff I see with the bashed boxes etc never really seem to be all that much cheaper any time iv looked to be honest.

wheres that or are you talking in general

in my eyes if the actual product is still intact then not much should be taken off, in fact if its just the box then i wouldnt take anything off

Morrisons generally have packs of cans held together with tape. More tape than box hahah

Ah, so it's what I call the 'stale, bashed and broken'.

I don't think I've been in an Asda for the best part of a decade, I wonder if it's improved.

My wife is not scared of anything and I've seen her many times asking staff if they can put a whoopsi sticker on a damaged item. It is very cheeky mind. It mainly works in Asda, might work in other stores. I think the secret is not to be shy, if you dont ask, well, you know the rest.

Just as an add on. my mother in law came round at about midnight with 3 carrier bags full from Asda, here goes

3 x 6 bread buns
3 x 6 sesame bread buns
2 x 12 brown bread buns
2 x 4 tea cakes
2 x 6 hot cross buns
1 x brown solid loaf
2 x 6 cheese topped bread buns

All had been made in store that day and reduced several times through out the day(due to amount of stickers). She got every item for 7p each, total of £1.05 cant go wrong. Most went in the freezer.
