Hi, i'm new here but thought i could post & possibly help.

My dd's have been collecting build a bears for years. They utterly adore them, but agree they can be v.expensive.

As others have said though, the cheapest bear can be £9 but the outfits can be steep, from around £8+ each.

I have discount codes but as you say they run out on the 22nd which is no good for you :-(

Another option is the smallfry collection - they are the same as build a bears just tiny (and super cute)

£13 for a patterned bear and outfit, my daughter has the hearts one on her list for her 9th birthday.

You can also but gift cards and get family to contribute? Or if you register online you get sent vouchers through from time to time.

They also give you a £5 voucher instore when you purchase to use on your next visit, so you could buy a bear first and go back to use the voucher for the outfit.

    Hope this helps?

    Jenni.

If you can get someone who buys a build a bear to put your email address on the registration details you will get emailed lots of special offers for build a bear. when it snowed last year we had 2 vouchers come through for free bears, we didnt tell the kids they were free and used them as part of their xmas treat day. :) You can also join build a bearville where your little one can play with lots of different games etc.

It just depends what you want - I really personalised one for my best mate (but there were loads of specific little touches, and she has bad asthma so I got her the asthma-friendly one which was dearer) and it cost me £32  but you can build a nice one much cheaper.. its just the outfits etc that end up costing.

I have created an account online and will be taking her into the shop it self just before her birthday. I am thinking of getting her a gift card so that she knows thats her limit and no more.
  • try the website they have sales etc plus you can get build a bear clothers on ebay (i had the pleasure of going to hamleys when my daughter was 10 to get some clothers for her build a bear some yrs ago .... 3 hours we were there just in that section they had a buy 2 for 3 on the items !!! when we left i understood the pain a man feels when shopping we us women .. somtimes )
  • The are very nice bears and the clothes and stuff are great

i allways say, we seem to spend more on clothes for the BaB's in our house that we do on our 2 children
  • OP, I have a £4 off voucher if you are interested, it expires on the 6th September. PM me if you are still interested and I will email it to you. Also the Argos bear clothes fit Build a Bears too and they sometimes have them in the sale in Argot too. I have just picked up a couple of outfits for about £3 or £4 in Argos x

We're planning on taking my step daughter to the build a bear workshop for her birthday next week so I'm googling vouchers. Does anyone know if they issue vouchers to use in-store via email/emailing list please? Thanks :-)

Also thanks for the tip about Argos (only problem is trying to find stock locally on the lower priced stuff), i'll keep an eye out :D
