Your Advice Please!!

Hi All,

This is going to sound quite heavy for a first post but this is the main step in clearing my debts.

My situation is this:

I live in a rented flat with my fiancee, at the same time i own a flat which i rent out. The reason we dont live in it is that it's too small.

My dillemma is this, i want to sell the flat i own so i can get a new house and mortgage with my fiancee cuz i dont like renting.

The problem being that i need the flat empty to sell it (ideally). This means i will have to pay around £400 a month for the empty flat (mortgage, council tax etc).

Therefore i kind of have to house's bills to pay and i cant sustain £400 a month for more than a couple of months - then if the flat doesnt sell fast i risk raking up huge debts.

Any ideas as to how i can get round this?

Anyone know if there are requirements for mortgage holidays etc? (im with Halifax if that helps).

Thank you all in advance

you don't pay council tax on an empty house for the first 6 months its empty.

To sell quickly put it on the market at a reasonable price.

If its a one bedroom flat rented out, you can sell it. It might appeal to a property investor. Is there a good rental market in the flats area?

Give notice to your tenants and landlord, live in your flat until you sell it. It may be small, but won't hurt for a few months surely?

My dad shared 1 bedroom with 82 siblings. And there was ice on the INSIDE of the windows. ;)
