Surely if you order it now, it will be waiting for you next month?

I'm sorry if I didn't make it clear, but I am travelling around a lot right now. That's what makes the banks' obsession with fixed addresses so tricky. I mean, just because a man travels a lot doesn't mean he is a money launderer.

Mostly I do things online and don't get printed documents with my current address on them anyway.

So I remain open to suggestions about how to recover my money from IBB.

Does that mean you have no correspondence address at all with Nationwide at the moment? I'm surprised they allow that, have you actually told them that you're not living at the address they had previously? I suspect you may be out of luck with IBB on this until you have a permanent address either in the UK, or overseas if you don't return. They are probably entitled to set and enforce their own rules on proof of ID for dormant accounts which you would have signed up for when you opened the account (although I doubt whether anyone would actually look at that part of the T&Cs in advance as it's not likely that anyone would plan to have their account go dormant).
