Am I entitled to a refund/exchange ?

We have a 28 day exchange policy, but we require either a receipt or a game reward card, and we do need a transaction number for authenticity and to prevent fraud. They should have offerred you an exchange on another copy of the same game or put onto a gift card if the GAME stickers were all there, it needs to remain unopened for a full refund, but you do get 90 days if an item is not working, and to be honest, a bank statment doesn't show what was purchased, anything for the value of £14.99 could have been bought unfortunatly. Not sure why our policy's like that, i know amestations is similar, just how we've been taught to do things
Edit - not done the permanant markers on boxes for at least 2 years now~*Cerenia*~

This isn't an attack on you and I appreciate that you are stating your company's policy and the reasons behind it. However, company policy cannot overule your stautory rights as a consumer. If you have faulty goods you do not need a proof of purchase to return them as the OP has correctly stated. The issue is that without one you cannot prove the date when you bought the item, therefore the retailer cannot be given the chance to offer you a refund based on the time you have had the goods versus a decrease in value. You may also find it difficult to prove to the retailer that you bought it from them (unless the item is branded by the store), but the fact that a company wants a receipt to combat fraud is irrelevant, you simply don't need one.

I'm not arguing, just stating what we've been taught. A bank statement shows something was bought for that value, but not what was bought. May I ask for the weblink you're getting the sales law from? The one i've got says a alternative proof of purchase maybe a bank statement may be OK. I'm asking for my own personal information now as well, several places have refused exchanges or refunds without receipts, even with bank statements, so i'm wanting to get a copy printed off now, actually mad that several places have ripped me off using that in the past~*Cerenia*~
