Hi
I have 2 outdoor lights the tall 3 headed kind and I am looking to connect a PIR motion sensor to them.
Do I just connect the main cable coming from the switch to the PIR then connect another cable from the PIR to the first light?
I have posted this before but can anyone assist me?
Thanks

Thought as much.
I have the tall 3 headed lights which B&Q sell and I have them wired to the switch in my hall which is for my outdoor porch lights. I have got a 6 gang switch to replace my 4 gang switch so I can switch the tall lights on and off without the porch lights being on and that's why I want a PIR sensor for them.
Can I run the mains cable up the inside of the first light drill a hole in the light where I want the PIR and wire it then have another cable running back down again to the light connector then connect the second light?0 -

Legally YOU cannot do any wiring outside ! All outside wiring work has to be undertaken by an approved part p registered electrician.
What you have suggested above is correct though, if you are competant enough then go ahead and do it making sure that every hole you drill is sealed with an appropriate IP4X rated gland.
The onus will be on your head though if anything ever goes wrong !You may click thanks if you found my advice useful0
