Media Center can't see my DVD drive...

Hi,

I have a new laptop with Media Center. When I go to 'Burn CD/DVD' in MC it says that I need a CD/DVD recorder and won't go any further.
If I put a DVD into the drive, My Computer picks them up as DVD ROMs with no available space even though they're empty.
If I put a CD in it picks it up okay but Media Centre doesn't.

I know the DVD burner works as I've burnt the recovery disk it asked me to do when I first turned it on. Also, the Power2Go program picks them up and reads the disks as RWs.

Any ideas? I'm hoping it's something simple otherwise I've got to brave it back to the shop and let someone else touch it!

Any help is much appreciated

Don't know anything about media centre, but perhaps you have to tell it which application to use i.e. the default application for burning.

I've had a good look at MC settings to see if there's something along those lines but haven't noticed anything...
When I click on the My Computer icon DVD+RW discs are being read as DVD-ROM so I'm not sure if the problem is isolated to MC.
Although CDs are being read correctly in My Computer, they're not coming up in MC. This is driving me nuts!

    Thanks for your help! :T
