Can anybody recommend some dog nail clippers.
I currently have

and they really don't like them.
I also have

but one of the dogs has quite thick nails that don't go in the hole..
Does anybody else use a different type that can be used on thick / large nails.

I have one of those rotating sander type things. I can't remember the name of them off the top of my head, but they are very good. (pedipaws maybe?)

I was looking at one of those in Asda last night, JML do them, reduced to £5.99 on site but still about £4 P+P.

Are they good then baggins? I use one of the hole clippers above at the moment and I'm confident cutting my Westies white claws but I don't like cutting the Scottie's black ones

I have these
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Wahl-Smartgroom-Clipper-Guillotine-Stainless/dp/B000YKPD94/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1313832575&sr=8-3
But not sure if they're the same as you're second pair or not. The hole measures 7mm X 9mm if thats any help.0 -
What dont they like about them. Its usually the sound etc of them being done, rather than the clippers themselves0

i've got one of them as well and they don't sit still to have them sanded down.Waterfalls wrote: »What dont they like about them. Its usually the sound etc of them being done, rather than the clippers themselves
they'll just pull away when i use them. i might get one or two clips but then i have to wrestle their legs back out from under them.. Although i'm wondering if they might not be very sharp and not going straight through, which is uncomfortable.0 -

yep, they're similar to the second picture but i have an identical pair. I've got two of those as one was advertised for 'large dogs' but they're just a standard size.0 -
