    Such an attitude!

Please be advised we did pay for this please do not state we did'nt and please do not second guess anything about us.

Make's me wonder if it was someone like yourself who took me for a ride!

No need to reply I think your help is no longer required.

But, would like again to take this opportunity in thanking DunstonH for his helpful advice:T

That surprises me. Very few people paid a fee to be advised whether or not to purchase an endowment to repay a mortgage.

Yes, we are in that bracket of (very few people)

Clearly you have not read my signature, which makes quite clear that I do not.

That, in turn, makes me wonder what else you have not read.
No need to wonder - we were taken for a ride by a very well trained sales person!

Precisely my point - a salesperson, not an adviser.

However, if you think that they did not make you aware of the risks, why did you not complain when you became aware of the possible shortfall?

On the other hand, almost all mortgage illustrations I have seen issued in the last 23 years (probably running into the thousands) showed possible maturity values based on three rates of return, the lowest of which showed a shortfall in almost all cases. I believe there is only one where no shortfall was shown but was theoretically possible.
