The value conditioners are ok in a pinch but they tend not to have silicones which give the nice slip which you get with something like HE.

If you want silicones give your hairbrush a quick spray with furniture polish before brushing your hair.
A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.

Have you tried Tesco Value Baby Shampoo? It was only 9p last week and I find it quite good.

Thanks julia, I have no need to wander down the baby-stuff aisles these days , but that's a good suggestion ! :D Might use that one to supplement my laundry products from now on .

However notice they've also nearly doubled the price of this too as it's now 17p for 500ml, as is Sainsbury's .............still works out cheaper per litre than the adult version though.

i have a bottle of sainsburys baby shampoo i had bought it for bathing the dog but its easier to take him to the groomers as he takes forever to dry. Anyway i've started using it on the kids and its actually very good i prefer it to johnsons baby and the loreal kids. Perhaps i might get a conditioner and try the value range myself, i have long hair so need lots of conditioner to comb the tangles out, i get through alot.

  • I've used it once when I was desperate and had to borrow some from a friend, but personally I wouldn't again. It made my hair feel nice and clean and really soft, but the colour went quite dull and it wasn't shiny at all. I normally use shampoo specifically for blonde highlighted hair and I find that I get a much better result as it brings out the colour and shine. But if you don't have dyed blonde hair it could definitely be worth a try, it seemed to do as good a job of cleaning my hair as the more expensive ones.

  • On a related note, I bought Alberto Balsam the other day on the way home from work (was in a rush and couldn't be bothered to run further than Savers) and it's actually done quite a good job of washing my hair, I don't get that feel of product build-up to it anymore.
