Hello, any suggestions/past experiences would be greatly appreciated. I have recently brought a property (not moved in yet) currently there is an electric meter, with no key. So no electric yet ! only accepted the keys today so haven't contacted the supplier.
Would people recommend me keeping the meter as it is or to replace it with a conventional quartly bill meter ?
The property is 4 bedroom, terraced perhaps 1950/60 cira. The house has a good energy efficiency rating currently C.
Is a new meter expensive if Im persuaded to switch ?
ps, I was intending to take in some paying lodgers so do not want the electric just cutting off!

YES...If you can get the meter changed for a credit meter. Might involve switching to a supplier that will do it for free but you will always save by managing your bill online and paying by monthly direct debit. A energy rating of C is not that good it's average.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

I used to pay by direct debit, but now have meters and believe me it concentrates your mind wonderfully on energy saving when you see the daily cost. I pay as I use and am much happier as there are no large bills looming. :jCeltigra:smileyhea0
